CHICKEN FRANCESE
WHAT IS CHICKEN FRANCESE
FRANCESE is an Italian word for Francaise. This dish is initially created by Italian immigrants in the United States, hence the name. However this dish s not a French dish.
This dish is a nice option if you are looking for an easy and quick chicken dinner idea
WHAT YOU NEED TO MAKE CHICKEN FRANCESE
500gr of chicken breast – washed, sliced into half, pad dry
2 pcs of eggs– beaten
1 cup of all-purpose flour –
3 large cloves of garlic – finely chopped
½ of lemon or lime – thinly sliced
Juice of ½ of lemon or lime
150gr of butter
1tbs of roughly chopped parsley
2 tbs of olive oil (preferably extra virgin olive oil)
Salt & pepper to taste
HOW TO MAKE CHICKEN FRANCESE
- Sliced chicken breast into half, washed, pad dry, Season chicken with salt & pepper.
- Coat each piece of the chicken with flour, set aside
- Heat oil in a large pan on medium heat, deep each of the dusted chicken into egg wash, shallow fry for approximately 2 – 3 minutes on each side, take out and place on baking tray, put in the oven on 150C for aproximately 5 – 8 minutes
- The sauce: On the same pan add butter and garlic, continue stirring to avoid getting burnt, squeeze and add juice from 1/2 of the lemon,
- sliced the remaining half of the lemon
- Once the chicken is ready plate them up, pour garlic butter sauce over the chicken, add slices of lemon, sprinkle over some chopped parsley. And done
You can serve Chicken Francese with mashed, roasted or fondant potatoes
